Roger is an accomplished Director of IT at the Los Angeles County Office of Education, leading a dynamic team overseeing Network Engineering and Cybersecurity. With extensive experience in designing and scaling secure network infrastructures, Roger is recognized for implementing innovative solutions that enhance organizational performance.

Roger plays a pivotal role in advancing secure, reliable connectivity for K-12 education, contributing to cybersecurity content development for schools. Committed to bridging the digital divide, Roger is pursuing an advisory board position with the Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband Coalition to further expand broadband access for underserved communities.

In previous roles, Roger successfully led large-scale IT initiatives, including creating the largest school IT support team at Los Angeles Unified School District, overseeing more than 350 staff members. Roger’s combination of technical expertise and strategic leadership continues to drive public institutions forward, fostering a more connected future.

In addition to his work at LACOE, Roger is an Adjunct Faculty member at a local community college.

Statement of Interest for the Board of Directors
With a strong background in network engineering, I have been focused on designing and managing scalable networks for educational institutions, particularly in underserved areas. My work alongside K-12 schools has deepened my insight into the connectivity challenges faced by these communities. I bring technical expertise in network architecture, cybersecurity, and broadband solutions that closely align with SHLB’s mission of extending high-speed internet to underserved populations. I am eager to join the SHLB board to leverage my experience in crafting strategic broadband initiatives, advocating for meaningful policy changes, and building partnerships to close the digital divide. My goal is to help create sustainable broadband infrastructure that ensures equal access to online learning, healthcare, and essential public services.
