Statement of Interest for the Board of Directors
Throughout my career, I have focused on making broadband meaningful by expanding opportunity and strengthening communities. As UETN’s Director of Policy and Communications and former Utah State Broadband Director, I bring more than 15 years of experience in broadband policy, funding, and implementation. I have worked extensively with E-Rate, Rural Health Care, CARES, Capital Projects Fund, and state broadband programs to connect schools, libraries, healthcare providers, and rural and tribal communities. My experience has shown that successful broadband initiatives depend on collaboration, creative alignment of funding, and strong relationships. I have seen libraries become vital digital lifelines, remote schools gain transformative fiber connectivity, and healthcare providers extend services through technology. On the SHLB Board, I would bring a collaborative, implementation-focused perspective and a strong commitment to helping anchor institutions turn connectivity into lasting opportunities for the communities they serve.
