Professional Bio

Gillian Cassell-Stiga is Senior Counsel with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, with whom she investigates and pursues civil rights litigation related to technology and racial justice. Her team, the Digital Justice Initiative, particularly focused on issues of broadband access, election disinformation, voter intimidation, algorithmic bias, privacy, surveillance, and biometrics. Prior to joining the Lawyers’ Committee, Gillian worked on voting rights litigation as Special Counsel for Free Speech for People and as an associate with Beldock Levine & Hoffman, LLP, where she pursued federal civil rights claims arising from unconstitutional policing and criminal justice practices. Gillian serves on the board of Soccer Without Borders and received a M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School, a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and a B.S from the University of Pennsylvania.
