Understanding the Economics of a New Era in Broadband

Thursday, October 8, 2026
03:20 - 04:20 PM
Room: TBD

This session will discuss how new technologies that are coming on the scene, such as LEO, FWA, and DOCSIS 4.0, will shape the competitive landscape of the broadband sector. It will also discuss the heterogeneous economic impacts on local communities of these new technologies. For example, questions such as how will BEAD spending trickle down to local economies if spent on fiber vs. FWA vs. LEO? and should these differences be considered when government designs regulatory regimes?
