The conference is a great platform for broadband experts to interact through plenary sessions, breakout panels and networking opportunities. Now Accepting Proposals for Participation:  This year’s Conference will be different than prior years in one important respect – we plan to have between 3 to 5 in-depth, hands-on Workshops.  Potential Workshop topics include: Reform of the FCC’s Healthcare Connect Fund Community Last-Mile Projects Building Off BTOP Middle Mile Investments E-Rate, Dark Fiber and Self-Provisioning  Public Housing and Broadband Adoption Other Topics of Interest to Anchor Institutions The majority of the breakout sessions include a moderator and 3 panelists. However, the conference planning committee is open to alternative formats that depart from the norm.  Submissions may propose certain speakers, certain topics, or both. Greater weight will be given to fully developed proposals. SHLB will work with applicants who have interesting ideas but are uncertain of how to identify the best speakers or materials.  Please submit your proposals for Plenary Session Topics, Break-out Sessions or Workshops  by email to Emily Olson at  The proposal deadline is January 6, 2016.
