Washington, D.C. (December 14, 2022) - The following quote can be attributed to John Windhausen, executive director of the SHLB Coalition:

“Cyberattacks on our nation's schools and libraries have been increasing in intensity and frequency. There is an urgent need for the FCC to take action to help schools and libraries protect the integrity of their networks to promote education and learning. While we are disappointed that the FCC did not take action in the Eligible Services List issued today, we are pleased that the Commission has opened a rulemaking proceeding to provide E-rate support for these necessary expenses, which SHLB has requested for almost two years. We look forward to helping the Commission make a thoughtful and quick decision to give schools and libraries the financial support they need to bolster their cybersecurity protections as soon as possible.”
