SHLB Coalition Applauds Senate Democrats’ Infrastructure Proposal
Washington, DC (January 25, 2017) - The Schools, Health & Libraries Broadband (SHLB) Coalition commends the Senate Democrats for including funding for broadband deployment in their infrastructure proposal released yesterday.
The following statement can be attributed to John Windhausen, Executive Director of SHLB:
“The SHLB Coalition applauds the Senate Democrats for launching an Infrastructure "Blueprint" that includes $20 Billion to build out broadband infrastructure in unserved and underserved areas. The Senate Democrats' plan properly recognizes the importance of broadband for education, health care and public safety. The "Blueprint" is very consistent with the SHLB Coalition's ‘American Broadband Connectivity (ABC)’ proposal, a non-partisan concept paper that calls for a variety of financial measures, including tax credits, loans and direct funding, to deploy high-speed broadband in every community in America to and through the nation's community anchor institutions. We look forward to working with all Members of Congress and the Trump Administration to ensure all Americans have digital connections through their anchor institutions."
